Moschea e Centro Culturale

Design of the “Mosque and Cultural Center” in Rome. The project involves the transformation of a 4-storey commercial building into a cultural center with an adjacent mosque for 800 worshipers. 

In addition to the offices of the association were distributed in the various plans the following functions: Conference room, library, exhibition space and classrooms. The prayer hall occupies the basement (1,100 square meters) and is accessible (including the disabled) by two separate entrances, one on Via Tor de Schiavi and the other on the Piazza of the Camellias. . At the edge of the room, turned in the direction of Mecca, they found accommodation functions related to the ritual of Islamic prayer: foyer, ablution, toilets and storage of shoes, separate for men and women. For the purpose of energy saving is made ​​for the installation of photovoltaic panels on the south facade and solar panels on the roof. The lighting, LED is controlled by a home automation system and photocells.
